Ubisoft Open World Games Boring

Most of their games have amazing engines assassin creed and far cry 2 but hey are empty and boring in the same time.

Ubisoft open world games boring. I just find most missions are about go wipe out this bandit camp to get some obscure item for some obscure person whos not interesting in the slightest. I never felt this way with other open world games including origins. Most open world games even outside of ubisoft games spider man horizon zero dawn shadow of mordor use some play on the whole climb this tower to unlock map mechanic which bores me to tears.

And we dont have to look too far into the future to see how ubisoft continues to plunder that lucrative open world formula. It starts out really good and the early hours have very good pacing. At one point the game becomes open world and it just slows it down for me.

I liked mgs v because its a real smooth stealth action game with cheesy writing and little of the typical open world nonsense. I think i have 100 in syndicate too but the game bored me so much. I just feel the story telling could be done better.

The world itself is amazingly detailed and stunning. Ubisoft open worlds are pretty repetitive but im someone who likes a collectathon. Far cry 2 setting africa was amazing so was tropical island in 3 but this game the whole urban setting was flatout.

But i barely play the side quests and i just mainline their games maximum playtime of 30. The 10 worst open world games of all time according to metacritic open world games are often the most popular type of games due to the freedom the payer gets. Take a game like god of war the new one.

I got every collectible in assassins creed syndicate for example which is probably the most egregious example of how much stuff they put on the map. People attack gta4 and say its repetitive and boring while these games are way worse. Of course its possible to just do the main quests but the game makes you feel like youre actually doing something wrong by ignoring the open world part of it.

First they actually choose most boring setting in open world let alone far cry. According to an interview with gamesindustrybiz affable ubisoft ceo yves guillemot explains that the company is all too aware of the draw of open world titles and it has no plans to deviate from that well trodden path moving forward. To be fair here except a few gems like tw3 all the open worlds tend to be boring its not just.
